Taxonomy
Gonambonites imbricatus was named by Rubel (1963). Its type specimen is 129-18 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Putilovo Quarry, Obukhovo Fm., which is in a Kunda reef, buildup or bioherm wackestone in the Obukhovo Formation of the Russian Federation.
