Taxonomy
Nautilus amorettii was named by Parona (1897). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Saltrio (Parona material), which is in a Sinemurian carbonate limestone in the Saltrio Formation of Italy.
It was recombined as Cenoceras amorettii by Kummel (1956).
