Rhinotreta laeta

Taxonomy
Viljandia laeta was named by Popov et al. (1982). Its type specimen is Br 1634, a valve (dorsal and ventral valves separated during preparation), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Rhinotreta laeta by Popov et al. (1994).

Popov et al. 1994Shell subquadrate in outline; ventral valve about 80-90 per cent as high as long; ventral pseudointerarea catacline to apsacline, bisected by indistinct intertrough; internal pedicle tu be well developed. Dorsal valve ftattened with raised umbo; dorsal pseudointerarea narrow, occupying about half of valve width.
