Rhoipites hispidus was named by Jaramillo and Dilcher (2001) [n. comb.]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UFP 40, 17.6 x 105, a microspore (Pollen grain).

Thickness of exine ± 2 µ. Wall semitectate. Very distinct costae pori and costae colpi present.
