It was corrected as Rueppellia by Kertesz (1909), Carpenter (1992) and Winterton et al. (2016).

It was assigned to Eriphinae by Duplicate (1851); to Therevidae by Kertesz (1909) and Carpenter (1992); and to Phycinae by Winterton et al. (2016).
