Taxonomy
Orthis porcia was named by Billings (1859). Its type specimen is G.S.C. 1044 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Clitambonites porcia by Raymond (1911); it was recombined as Ptychopleurella porcia by Cooper (1956).
