Taxonomy
Oncoceras carletonense was named by Twenhofel (1928) [Foerste in Twenhofel 1928]. Its type specimen is YPM 3864, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Carleton Point, which is in a Richmondian carbonate limestone/shale in the Vaureal Formation of Canada.
