Taxonomy
Conularia splendida was named by Billings (1866). Its type specimen is Canadian National Museum 2157 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Carleton Point, which is in a Richmondian carbonate limestone/shale in the Vaureal Formation of Canada.

S. P. Robson and G. A. Young 2013Transverse ribs form bell-shaped curve deflected towards the aperture and continue across corner groove uninterrupted; ribs closely spaced, numbering 46 per cm. Rib nodes hemispherical, closely spaced, numbering seven per mm. Interspace ridges low, extending from base of node on the transverse rib nearest the aperture to a space between two adjacent nodes on rib nearest the apex.
