Taxonomy
Thrips breviventris was named by von Schlechtendal (1887). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Rott (Lord Dr Pohlig coll), which is in a MP 30 lacustrine - large lignite in the Rott Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Hemithrips breviventris by Bagnall (1924).
