Holectypus is a genus. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Holectypidae.

It was assigned to Pygasteridae by Clark and Twitchell (1915); to Holectypidae by Wagner and Durham (1966) and Poretskaya (1971); and to Holectypoida by Sepkoski (2002).
