Taxonomy
Zanycteris honeyi was named by Burger (2013). Its type specimen is UCM87378, a maxilla (Right maxilla), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCM locality 92177, which is in a Tiffanian terrestrial sandstone/claystone in the Fort Union Formation of Colorado.
