Taxonomy
Fibularia was named by Lamarck [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo-l R Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is extant. It is the type genus of Fibularina.

It was assigned to Fibulariidae by Durham (1966) and Donovan (1993); and to Clypeasteroida by Sepkoski (2002).
