Paleauletobius silenus
Taxonomy
Rhynchites silenus was named by Heer (1847). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Oeningen (unspecified collection), which is in a Sarmatian crater lake limestone in the Upper Freshwater-Molasse Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Paleauletobius.
It was recombined as Paleauletobius silenus by Poinar and Legalov (2015).
