Taxonomy
Gaudryceras hobetsense was named by Shigeta and Nishimura (2013). Its type specimen is HMG-1573, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tributary of Tonai-zawa River, which is in a Maastrichtian marine mudstone in the Hakobuchi Formation of Japan.
