Taxonomy
Carpocrinidae was named by De Koninck and Le Hon (1854). It is the type family of Carpocrinacea.

It was assigned to Carpocrinacea by Ubaghs et al. (1978) and Ausich and Copper (2010); and to Monobathrida by Ausich and Cournoyer (2019).
