Taxonomy
Archaeoryctes euryalis was named by Lopatin (2001). Its type specimen is PIN 3104/292, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tsagan Hushu [Naran Bulak Fm.] [PMPE], which is in a Paleocene terrestrial horizon in the Naran Bulak Formation of Mongolia.
