Taxonomy
Eirlysia lata was named by Mazaev (2015). Its type specimen is PIN 4919/11-5, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chimbulat Quarry, locality 4919/11, which is in a Roadian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in the Nemda Formation of the Russian Federation.
