Taxonomy
Soleniscus aplatus was named by Mark (1912). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tony Fasekas farm, 2.4 km south of New Concord, which is in a Virgilian shallow subtidal limestone/shale in the Glenshaw Formation of Ohio.
