Taxonomy
Rotularia spirulaeoides was named by Glaessner (1958). Its type specimen is Adelaide University F15320 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kerabi Valley (Mott collection), which is in a Cenomanian marine sandstone in Papua New Guinea.
