Taxonomy
Meandrina strigosa was named by Dana (1846). It is extant. Its type specimen is USNM 00005.

It was recombined as Maeandra strigosa by Vaughan (1919); it was recombined as Diploria strigosa by Vaughan and Wells (1943) and De Buisonjé (1974); it was recombined as Pseudodiploria strigosa by Budd et al. (2012).
