Taxonomy
Spathicephalus pereger was named by Baird (1962). Its type specimen is PU 17182, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is near Point Edward, which is in a Serpukhovian/Bashkirian terrestrial siltstone in the Point Edward Formation of Canada.
