Turrilites brazoensis was named by Roemer (1849). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Mariella (Wintonia) brazoensis by Kennedy (2005); it was recombined as Mariella (Plesioturrilites) brazoensis by Ceccolini and Cianferoni (2023).
