Venus grata was named by Say (1831). It is extant.

It was recombined as Protothaca grata by Hertlein (1956); it was recombined as Protothaca (Tropithaca) grata by Aberhan and Fursich (1991); it was recombined as Protothaca (Protothaca) grata by Coan et al. (2000); it was recombined as Leukoma grata by Coan and Valentich-Scott (2012) and Hendy (2021).
