Taxonomy
Burroceras was named by Cobban et al. (1989). Its type is Burroceras clydense.

It was synonymized subjectively with Euomphaloceras by Wright et al. (1996) and Barroso-Barcenilla (2004).

It was assigned to Euomphaloceratinae by Gale et al. (2005).
