Puzosia gaudama intermedia was named by Kossmat (1898).

It was recombined as Puzosia orientale intermedia by Matsumoto (1954); it was recombined as Puzosia (Austiniceras) intermedia by Cooper (1978); it was recombined as Mesopuzosia intermedia by Summesberger (1992).
