Taxonomy
Sonninia (Euhoploceras) bifurcata was named by Westermann (1969). Its type specimen is USNM 160236, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Mesozoic 12405, Wide Bay, which is in a Bajocian marine shale in the Kialagvik Formation of Alaska.
