Hakawai melvillei
Taxonomy
Hakawai melvillei was named by De Pietri et al. (2015). Its type specimen is NMNZ S.50806, a limb element (Tarsometatarsus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Site HH4, Home Hills Station (H41/f95), which is in an Altonian lacustrine - large claystone in the Bannockburn Formation of New Zealand. It is the type species of Hakawai.
