Taxonomy
Leptoplesictis namibiensis was named by Morales et al. (2008). Its type specimen is LT 50’07, a tooth (right m/1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Langental, which is in a Miocene terrestrial marl in Namibia.
