Taxonomy
Apion (Stenapion) subdiscedens was named by Voss (1953). Its type specimen is GPIH 196, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Scheele collection, University of Hamburg, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Apion subdiscedens by Kuschel (1992); it was recombined as Stenapion subdiscedens by Legalov (2015); it was recombined as Baltoapion subdiscedens by Legalov (2019).
