Hyaenodon brachycephalus

Taxonomy
Hyaenodon brachycephalus was named by Osborn (1909). Its type specimen is AMNH 13264, a mandible (Lower jaw), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lower beds, west of Quarry A, which is in a Rupelian terrestrial sandstone/mudstone in the Jebel Qatrani Formation of Egypt.

It was recombined as Metapterodon brachycephalus by Holroyd (1999).
