Taxonomy
Cypraea berryessae was named by Anderson (1958). Its type specimen is CAS 31918.02, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS loc. 31918, Thompson Creek, which is in a Turonian marine horizon in the Yolo Formation of California.
It was recombined as Bernaya (Protocypraea) berryessae by Groves (1990) and Groves et al. (2011).
