Taxonomy
Eomicrobiotherium matutinum was named by Goin et al. (2010). Its type specimen is MPEF-PV 4369, a tooth (right m1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is La Cancha, which is in a Tinguirirican terrestrial horizon in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.
