Ruhuhucerberus haughtoni

Taxonomy
Aelurognathus haughtoni was named by Huene (1950). Its type specimen is GPIT/RE/7117, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kingori locality, Ruhuhu Basin, which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial horizon in the Usili Formation of Tanzania.

It was recombined as Leontocephalus haughtoni by Sigogneau (1970) and Sigogneau-Russell (1989); it was recombined as Ruhuhucerberus haughtoni by Kammerer (2016).

Synonyms
  • Ruhuhucerberus terror was named by Maisch (2002). Its type specimen is UMZC T891, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is B4, Katumbi Vawili (Lower Bonebed K6), which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial horizon in the Usili Formation of Tanzania.

    It was recombined as Sycosaurus terror by Gebauer (2007); it was synonymized subjectively with Ruhuhucerberus haughtoni by Kammerer (2016).
