Taxonomy
Palaeodictyota was named by Whtifield (1902) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Dres-u D Gedi Sepkoski's reference number: 931,1066]. It is not extant. Its type is Inocaulis ramulosus.

It was assigned to Acanthograptidae by Rickards et al. (1990); and to Dendroidea by Sepkoski (2002).
