Lycaenodon longiceps
Taxonomy
Lycaenodon longiceps was named by Broom (1925). Its type specimen is BMNH R5700, a partial skull (Anterior half of skull without lower jaws), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Biesjiespoort, Victoria West, which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial horizon in South Africa. It is the type species of Lycaenodon.
