Taxonomy
Medlicottia tenuis was named by Leonova (1985). Its type specimen is PIN 3591/217, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kurteke, Kochusu Suite, Pamir Mountains, which is in a Kungurian carbonate limestone in the Kochusu Formation of Tajikistan.
