Taxonomy
Gaetanoceras pavlovi was named by Leonova (1989). Its type specimen is PIN 3591/390, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Igrimiyuz Creek, Sample 22/8, Pamir Mountains, which is in a Kungurian marine horizon in the Kyzyldzhilga Formation of Tajikistan.
