Sipalocyon externus

Taxonomy
Cladosictis externa was named by Ameghino (1902). Its type specimen is MACN 52-383, a partial skull (partial skull with left P3-M3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gran Barranca - southern cliff of lake Colhué Huapí, which is in a Colhuehuapian terrestrial horizon in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.

It was recombined as Sipalocyon externa by Marshall (1981); it was recombined as Sipalocyon externus by Goin et al. (2007).
