Taxonomy
Cypraeorbis gaasensis was named by Dolin and Lozouet (2004). Its type specimen is MNHN-Malacologie, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Espibos, Gaas, which is in a Rupelian carbonate marl/sandstone in the Calcaire à Astéries Formation of France.
