Taxonomy
Anoplius planeta was named by Rodriguez and Pitts (2016). Its type specimen is OSAC Hy-10-45, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (Poinar coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
