Taxonomy
Strephocladus permianus was named by Guan et al. (2016). Its type specimen is Ld LAP 310, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Lodève, Mérifrons member (unspecified location), which is in a Kungurian pond claystone/siltstone in the Salagou Formation of France.
