Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
A. G. Kramarz et al. 2013Small chinchillid, similar in size to Eoviscaccia Vucetich, 1989, or the smallest species of Prolagostomus Ameghino, 1887. Protohypsodont cheek teeth, lower crowned than in the species of Eoviscaccia, with cement in adult stages. Hypoflexus/id connected with the parafossette/metafossettid during juvenile stages. P4-M3
and m1-3 with two very persistent labial (in the uppers) and lingual (in the lowers) fossettes/ids. Mandibular masseteric crest slightly everted, as in Scleromys and unlike all known chinchillids.
