Taxonomy
Garridomys curunuquem was named by Kramarz et al. (2013). Its type specimen is MOZ-PV-920, a mandible (left mandible fragment with p4-m3 and incomplete incisor), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Barda Negra 1, which is in a Colhuehuapian fluvial volcaniclastic in the Cerro Bandera Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Garridomys.
