Protosteiromys medianus
Taxonomy
Eosteiromys medianus was named by Ameghino (1903). Its type specimen is MACN A52-111, a tooth (right M1 or M2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is La Flecha, which is in a Deseadan terrestrial mudstone in the Deseado Formation of Argentina.
It was recombined as Protosteiromys medianus by Wood and Patterson (1959) and Pérez et al. (2018).
