Paulonaria lodanensis was named by Schilder (1937) [Paulonaria (?) lodanensis]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Loc 26^10 im Süden von Lodan, which is in a Langhian marine sandstone/marl in the Tawun Formation of Indonesia.
It was recombined as Erosaria (Paulonaria) lodanensis by Dolin and Lozouet (2004); it was recombined as Pustularia lodanensis by Schilder and Schilder (1971) and Fehse (2010).
