Taxonomy

Rostellaria (Rimella) canalifera elongata was named by Weaver (1912) [Rimella canalifera n. var. elongata]. It is the type subspecies of Vaderos.

It was recombined as Rimella canalifera elongata by Weaver (1912); it was recombined as Ectinochilus (Vaderos) elongatus by Clark and Palmer (1923); it was recombined as Rimella elongata by Dickerson (1915) and Squires (2013).

R. L. Squires 2013	Shell size small, pleural angle 338; last whorl commonly with 21 axial ribs; spiral ribs weak; posterior canal ascends to near shell apex where broad callus can obscure apex; posterior canal descends as far as posterior part of pre- penultimate whorl.
