Pseudocypraea was named by Schilder (1927). It is extant. It is the type genus of Pseudocypraeinae.

It was reranked as Cyproglobina (Pseudocypraea) by Schilder (1927).

It was assigned to Cyproglobina by Schilder (1927); to Pseudocypraeinae by Steadman and Cotton (1943); and to Pseudocypraeini by Fehse (2013).
