Ammonites deverioides was named by de Grossouvre (1889). It is the type species of Rhipidia.
It was recombined as Romaniceras deverioide by Reyment (1955) and Matsumoto (1959); it was recombined as Romaniceras deverioides by Matsumoto and Skwarko (1991).
