Tarrantoceras (Tarrantoceras) sellardsi
Taxonomy
Mantelliceras sellardsi was named by Adkins (1928). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Loc. 2412. Pepper Creek, which is in a Cenomanian carbonate limestone in the Eagle Ford Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Tarrantoceras, Tarrantoceras (Tarrantoceras).
It was recombined as Tarrantoceras sellardsi by Stephenson (1955), Kennedy et al. (1988) and Cobban (1988); it was recombined as Tarrantoceras (Tarrantoceras) sellardsi by Wright et al. (1996).
