Taxonomy
Perissolax obtusa was named by Marshall (1917). It is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Proficus.

It was recombined as Proficus obtusus by Finlay and Marwick (1937); it was recombined as Priscoficus obtusus by Beu et al. (1990).
